Marvel Boss Basically Just Confirmed 'WandaVision' Season 2 Isn't Happening

Since the first season of WandaVision wrapped up, fans have been ready to see what will happen next to Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), Monica (Teyonah Parris) and everyone else who was trapped inside the Westview bubble.

Given the Disney+ show's overwhelming popularity after premiering on the streaming platform this past January, many assumed that Marvel Studios would instantly order more episodes. But based on what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told reporters during a virtual TCA press tour panel and Elizabeth Olsen said during a Variety interview with Kaley Cuoco, a second season of WandaVision is not likely.

Will there be a WandaVision season 2 on Disney+?

Unfortunately, it's looking like the answer is "no." As Elizabeth told Kaley, "It’s definitely a limited series." Seemingly backtracking a bit, Elizabeth then added, "I mean, with Marvel, you can never say no."

Then there's Kevin, who refused to say whether or not there are plans for Wanda's storyline to continue in a series format.

"I’ve been at Marvel too long to say a definite no or yes to anything, in regards to another season of WandaVision," Kevin responded, later adding that season 2 will be "dictated by the story."

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios VP of Production and Development Nate Moore seemingly crushed expectations of a second season when he confirmed to IndieWire.com that WandaVision will be submitted to this year's Emmy Awards in the Limited Series or Anthology Series categories.

"I think WandaVision is a show you can only do once. [Wanda] can’t go back into that reality," Nate said.

Though it remains unclear, it kind of sounds like WandaVision might not get renewed after all (😢). Instead, the story will likely lead MCU fans into the upcoming Dr. Strange film in March of 2022, which Elizabeth Olsen is already confirmed to be a part of. During Kevin's TCA panel, he said: "The fun of the MCU is all of the crossover between series and films. Sometimes [a show] will go into a season 2, and sometimes it will go into a movie and then back into a series."

But, never say never! Everything could change very quickly, so we'll wait to freak out until an official announcement is made.
