Mary-Kate Olsen makes rare appearance with husband Olivier Sarkozy in New York City

Jennifer Kline,

There she is!

Mary-Kate Olsen made a rare public appearance this week, stepping out alongside husband Olivier Sarkozy at Sotheby's in New York City for its 2017 Take Home A Nude Art party and auction.

Olsen, 31, donned an ankle-length black dress, which she paired with white Velcro sneakers. She wore minimal makeup and posed for cameras with her trademark semi-pout. The petite star's smaller stature is more noticeable when she's by the side of Sarkozy, 48, who stands at 6-foot-3.

Although she's been spotted with sister Ashley in 2017, this is the first major appearance Olsen and her husband have made this year.

Just a day earlier, supermodel Carla Bruni, who is married to Nicolas Sarkozy opened up about what it's like having Olsen as a sister-in-law.

"She's my husband's brother's [wife], but I didn't go to the wedding!" Bruni told Andy Cohen on Tuesday's "Watch What Happens Live." "They invited us, and then we couldn't go because of a stupid reason, geographical reason, you know, we had to come over here and we couldn't. But I mean, he seems so happy."

She continued, "I met her at some cousin's wedding and she looked adorable and [was] very kind. And also, Olivier, he looks very happy with her. He had a lovely family and then he had a divorce..."

Although she stayed pretty tight-lipped, she gave a somewhat affirmative response to rumors that the couple offered bowls of cigarettes at their intimate 2015 wedding.

"It's allowed," Bruni said.

Earlier this year, Olsen gave a rare glimpse into her extremely private home life during an interview with The Edit.

"I have a husband, two step-kids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner," she said. "I ride horses on the weekend."
