Mary-Kate Olsen Swapped Out Her Wedding Ring for This Underrated $8 Accessory

It's been five months since Mary-Kate Olsen and Oliver Sarkozy ended their marriage. Since then, the last time an Olsen twin was spotted was back in May when Ashley stuffed a laptop into a $39,000 The Row backpack only to set it down on the Manhattan sidewalk. The internet collectively gasped behind screens while Olsen continued to live her life, carrying our entire life's savings slung over her shoulder and down the street.
Now, Mary-Kate has been spotted out again sans wedding ring while walking around New York with a friend looking happier than ever. Of course, very little seems to have changed and she wore a classic Mary-Kate look: a pair of big sunglasses, black ankle boots, and a $2,590 wool-blend coat from The Row. Apparently she's back on the dating scene and so it feels right that she would swap out her wedding ring for an entirely different accessory often worn by the single and mingling: an oversized beanie.
Beanies exist on a spectrum as they are very often too large or too small but always, always, always beloved by single men especially in the cities of New York and Los Angeles. Walk down any street in Brooklyn on a crisp October night and you won't be able to count all of the beanie spottings on two hands. Beanies are beloved by singles everywhere because they can instantly make any look cool.
Olsen's oversized beanie also happens to look very similar to a highly rated one on Amazon, which retails for $8 and has over 600 five-star reviews. Could it be? Considering that both she and her sister own a $39,000 backpack the answer is definitely no. But even if hers cost a couple hundred, all oversized beanies have the same exact I-don't-really-care Olsen vibe. And that's infinitely more cool than a wedding ring anyway.
