Update, October 11, 10:36 A.M. ET:

The Eagle was unmasked last night, and turned out to be none other than Dr. Drew Pinksky. The former HLN host was eliminated on Wednesday night's episode of The Masked Singer after performing "I'd Do Anything for Love."

Original, October 9, 7:30 p.m. ET:

Season 2 of The Masked Singer has barely even started and already the show has given us a few telling clues about the Eagle. From what we’ve learned so far on Instagram and analyzing a recent sneak peek, we think we know exactly who's in the Eagle costume.

Who is the Eagle on The Masked Singer?

As of right now, we are fairly confident that Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno is the Eagle on The Masked Singer. While some swear it's either Willie Nelson or Bret Michaels, we’re going with one fan’s guess that it’s Apolo. In our humble opinion, Willie and Bret are a bit too obvious. Showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra previously told GoodHousekeeping.com that the season 2 clues would be "more cryptic this time around" and "not abundantly clear from the get-go."

Knowing that, we're sticking with Apolo. For starters, a recently released clue about the flying contestant reads, "If you know an eagle's body temperature, 'You'll be hot on my tail.'"

An American bald eagle’s temperature is 106 degrees Fahrenheit or 41 degrees Celsius. Going off of the Celsius temperature, it's clear Apolo has a strong connection to the number 41 — it's the number of seconds it took him to break the 500-meter world record at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. He also has two gold medals, which could explain the medallion the Eagle is wearing.

And while everyone is convinced the red bandana is a signature Bret Michaels look, many forget that it’s Apolo’s, too. When he was making a name for himself on the ice, he was typically wearing a bandana. Just look at this throwback he shared:

He even had an entire photo shoot with his medals and his go-to red bandana.

We also have to consider the fact that he’s always down for a reality TV competition. He won Dancing With the Stars with partner Julianne Hough in 2007 and went on to compete in Dancing With the Stars: All Stars in 2012. In 2007, he and Julianne sported his classic bandana for a freestyle performance:

And he and partner Karina Smirnoff wore black bandanas five years later:

Then, there are also the clues about the entire cast. Among the masked singers this year, there are three New York Times bestsellers. Apolo received that title for his 2011 book, Zero Regrets: Be Greater Than Yesterday.

As the for the rock star outfit and references? We're thinking it has to do with biographer Thomas Lang calling him "part athlete, part rock star" in the 2002 book Going for the Gold: Apolo Anton Ohno.

All of that being said, Apolo has confirmed that he’s “terrible at singing” … so that should be interesting.
