The Snow Owls' Identity Has Been Revealed In 'The Masked Singers' First Double Unmasking

From Woman's Day

This season, The Masked Singer made history by featuring its first duo: The Snow Owls. The beautiful birds made their duet debut on the season 4 premiere to sing "Say Something," and continued to wow judges and fans alike. Of course, this made it twice as hard to guess who was beneath the costume. (But also it's a little easier since you know they have to be connected in some way.) Unfortunately, they weren't meant to be the first duo to win, as they were eliminated in the Nov. 11 episode after a smack down against the Popcorn. So who are the Snow Owls?

Despite judge Ken Jeong dying on the hull that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman were hiding beneath the Snow Owls costume, the duo turned out to be country singers Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black.

This wasn't a guess among judges until the final performance (congrats

Nicole Scherzinger!), but fans did have a hunch following their second performance. How did they know? Check out these clues.

  • The pearl in the first pre-performance package was a nod to their daughter, Lily Pearl.

  • The witch hat clue was likely a nod to Lisa, who starred in a Bewitched spinoff called Tabitha.

  • The hobby horse in the Nov. 11 episode was a nod to Flicka: Country Pride, which the duo starred in.

  • The long branch was an ode to Clint’s birthplace of Long Branch, NJ.

  • The Space Force model was a clue about Clint, who recorded a PSA for NASA not too long ago about how guitars are like rockets. (Who knew?!)

  • The model of the Parthenon was a clue to Nashville where the Blacks live.

Though the Blacks were sad to leave (as were viewers), they were good sports.

"Y’all are so nice and made us feel good every time," Clint told the judges after being eliminated.

Linda was equally gracious, and gave huge props to costume designers.

"When I first saw the costumes I actually cried because they’re so beautiful but they’re so sweet," Linda said. "I couldn’t wait to get into them."

The Judges' First Impressions

  • Nicole Scherzinger: Donny and Marie Osmond

  • Jenny McCarthy: Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams

  • Robin Thicke: Amy Grant and Vince Gill

  • Ken Jeong: Derek and Julianne Hough
