Like every other working person on the planet, I’ve struggled with finding the right way to carry all of my things on a regular weekday. Working in a city where the commute is most efficient by train and subway, I’ve done the commute with a tote bag, briefcase-style purse and a combination of both.

Dedicated to avoiding becoming the resident bag lady on my train, and sparing my back from future pain, I invested in a backpack that is both stylish and functional. Enter: the Fabi Backpack by Matt & Nat.

I’m not one to take a purchase lightly, so I had strict expectations of my new bag: it needed to fit my gym clothes, sneakers, water bottle, workday snacks, laptop and charging cables. Not only does it do all that, but my Fabi is also stylish, making it the perfect accessory for meetings and appointments.

I’m happy to report I’ve had this bag for nine months and it has weathered the hot, cold and rainy weather. With a separate pocket for my laptop, the size of this bag is ideal for crowded trains. And with a streamlined design, it’s easy to pack and unpack, knowing my electronics are a safe distance from harm (aka my water bottle and plethora of desk snacks).

With enough room to fit the weekday essentials, this bag has withstood the ultimate work bag test: the daily commute. Whether I’m running to the office, leisurely strolling to a meeting or packing into an already-full subway train, this bag is the soulmate to streamlining your commute essentials.

And it seems like I’m not the only one who swears by this bag. Matt & Nat shoppers also love the Fabi’s vintage style, roomy interior and soft vegan leather exterior.

“I love this backpack,” reads one review. “I have been using it for a few months in Canadian winter and so far it’s holding up great.”

The best part? Matt & Nat practice social responsibility, avoiding animal-based materials in all designs and using 100% recycled plastic bottles for interior liners.

Gone are the days of schlepping multiple tote bags, and at $185, it feels like you’re bagging a bargain on this stylish (and functional) Matt & Nat backpack.
