This week, the breaking fashion news just keeps on coming with a number of major designer shake-ups taking place across some of the biggest fashion houses. No news is bigger than Chanel finally filling its creative director spot with Bottega Veneta's Matthieu Blazy, who will be showing his first collection for the house in October 2025.

The announcement has been welcomed by all and, when you look back at some of his design hits during his time at Bottega, it's not difficult to see why. From his cult handbags to his sell-out jewellery and show-stopping catwalk moments, there is much excitement about what he will do at Chanel, and nowhere is this truer than on the red carpet.

During his three years at the helm of the brand, he has dressed many of the most famous women in the world, and given us some unforgettable red-carpet moments. As we wait to see what Blazy's Chanel might look like, take a moment to appreciate some of his best celebrity dressing. Here, we round up our 10 favourite looks, featuring Margot Robbie, Julianne Moore, Zendaya and Dua Lipa.

Margot Robbie at the 2022 Governors Awards

It was a much talked-about red-carpet moment when Margot Robbie wore this exceptional asymmetric green dress by Bottega Veneta to the 2022 Governors Awards. Coming off the back of a strict contract with Chanel (which saw her almost exclusively wear the brand on the red carpet for several years), this was the start of the actress trying out new labels, and she kicked off with a bang.

Dua Lipa at the 'Barbie' premiere

The Barbie press tour was history-making and not just because of Margot Robbie's countless pink ensembles. Dua Lipa also wore a number of standout looks during the tour, kicking off with this striking sheer metallic dress at the Los Angeles premiere, giving a whole rebirth to the naked dress.

Julianne Moore at the 2024 Venice Film Festival

More standout sequins came courtesy of Blazy's Bottega at the 2024 Venice Film Festival when Julianne Moore wore this beautiful gold creation to the premiere of The Room Next Door. Paired with his cult (and much-copied) Drop earrings and a slicked-back 'do, it was one of the best looks of the summer.

Zendaya at the 'Dune 2' premiere

Blazy has had the pleasure of dressing many of the world's best-dressed women during his time at Bottega, and is that of course includes Zendaya whom he dressed as part of her Dune 2 press tour. Embracing the method dressing that she is so well known for, the team worked on this exceptional brown two-piece, which included a high-necked super-cropped top for the premiere in Mexico City.

Yara Shahidi at the 2023 Oscars After Party

Another red-carpet look that perfectly demonstrates Blazy's flair for craft came courtesy of the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars After Party where actress Yara Shahidi wore this exceptional red midi dress with 3D floral appliqué and matching opera gloves. It was perfection.

Greta Lee at the 2024 Governors Awards

Greta Lee and Bottega Veneta have been a match made in red-carpet heaven lately, and the actress' outing to the Governors Awards in January was probably one of our favourite looks of hers. She wore Bottega head to toe in the form of a padded red V-neck dress and silver pointy pumps.

Hunter Schafer at the 2024 Oscars After Party

Hunter Schafer is without a doubt one of the best-dressed stars of 2024, and it is mostly thanks to an excellent award season run at the start of the year. Her red-carpet wardrobe included plenty of Prada and Schiaparelli, but one of the most timeless designs was this simple black strapless gown and gloves, courtesy of Blazy and Bottega.

Rihanna at the 2023 Oscars

Rihanna made headlines at the 2023 Academy Awards for wearing not one, but three incredible red-carpet looks. While she started the night in Alaïa and ended it in Margiela, the singer was also pictured in this breathtaking mint green design by Bottega which showed off her blossoming baby bump.

Ayo Edebiri at the 2024 Emmys

It was quite a year for Ayo Edebiri who quickly became one of fashion's breakout red-carpet stars, and it was partly in thanks to Matthieu Blazy who dressed her for a number of high-profile premieres and award shows. Her best look? This impeccable sequinned gown that she wore to the Emmys in September.

Michelle Yeoh at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival

Michelle Yeoh has been another big fan of Blazy's Bottega, wearing it everywhere from Golden Globes to the Wicked premiere just a few weeks ago. But, the best collaboration between Yeoh and Blazy came through at the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga at the Cannes Film Festival this summer where the actress wore a leather fringed design by the house.
