Through November 23rd, 2020 McDonald's is offering up to 50 fans the chance to win free cheeseburgers for a year, but only if an NFL team scores 50 or more points in a single game.
If you Tweet fast enough, you might be able to win free McDonald's cheeseburgers for an entire year. Through the end of Monday, November 23rd, the fast-food giant is running a contest wherein participants are challenged to be among the first to Tweet the score of a football game to @McDonalds once the game clock has reached the 00:00 mark. But there are two catches: first, you need to be among the 50 first people to Tweet the score at McD's. Second, said score must see one team having scored 50 points or more in the game. And to date in the 2020 National Football League season, that hasn't happened.
So far, the highest-scoring game in the NFL occurred in week four, when the Cleveland Browns bested the Dallas Cowboys 49 to 38, but, of course, even that high scoring affair didn't meet the 50-point mark. (The highest scoring NFL game of all time to date saw the Washington Redskins—long prior to the team's name change—best the New York Giants 72 to 41 back in November of 1966.)
Should you want to try your luck, be ready to Tweet the score of a game meeting the criteria to @McDonalds and include the hashtags #McDelivery and #Sweepstakes along with the score of the game. And make sure you wait until it's officially over, or your Tweet doesn't count.
The actual prize is a $720 credit that can be applied to McDelivery cheeseburger orders. As McDonald's will give out 50 prizes, that's $36,000 overall. Not a small amount of money in and of itself, but affordable for a company that generated some $21 billion in 2019.
