Meghan Markle Is Wearing a Givenchy Dress at the Royal Wedding and It's Absolutely Stunning

The moment we've been waiting for has arrived: We finally got a look at Meghan Markle's wedding dress. The stunning bride made her first appearance in her bridal ensemble while en route to St. George's Chapel to say "I do" to Prince Harry.

As previous rumors suggested, Meghan is wearing a gown from Givenchy's creative director Claire Waight Keller, a British designer who used to helm the fashion house Chloé. The number is surprisingly simple, but elegantly classic, with a boatneck neckline, long sleeves, and a decadent train. Her veil is actually longer than her hemline. Meghan also appears to wear Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara with the look.

Keller was apparently present during Meghan's entrance, and helped the bride get out of the car.

Earlier today, we could only see a glimpse of Meghan's gown from her car, but we could already tell it suited her perfectly. It seemed reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn's in Funny Face. (Givenchy was a go-to designer for the Old Hollywood actress, too.)

Ever since Meghan's engagement to Prince Harry was announced in November, rumors have been swirling left and right about who and what she'd wear for the big day. Earlier this year, bets were on Alexander McQueen, since creative director Sarah Burton made Kate Middleton's bridal gown in 2011.

Erdem, a go-to designer for the Duchess of Cambridge, then became a favorite after it was reported that the company was "staffing up." It was believed the brand was expanding ahead of dressing a special bride.

Next, Ralph & Russo was tipped to be making the gown after reports broke that she nabbed a £100,000 (about $134,710) dress from the design duo. Prince Harry was even reportedly seen leaving the atelier ahead of the wedding. It wasn't a far guess for Meghan; she wore a sheer couture gown by the brand for her official engagement portraits.

Then this week, a contender emerged from left field: David Emanuel, co-designer of Elizabeth Emanuel, who designed Princess Diana's wedding dress. David was spotted at Windsor just days ago, adding suspicions that he could be dressing Diana's daughter-in-law for her big day.

Even the day before the wedding, more rumors spread that Stella McCartney had crafted the look, but perhaps she had designed something for one of the receptions. However, this morning, gossip spread that Keller was behind the design.

Meghan had reportedly chosen her dress designer as far back as early January. On May 9, it was reported that her wedding day look was officially "finished and hidden at Windsor Castle."

As of right now, the price tag of Meghan's wedding gown remains unknown, but it likely cost "hundreds of thousands of dollars," E!'s royal expert Melanie Bromley previously told BAZAAR.com. "It’s going to be featured in the history books so needs to stand the test of time."

To put things into perspective, Kate Middleton's custom Alexander McQueen dress cost around four hundred thousand dollars. However, it's believed Meghan didn't want to "overshadow" her sister-in-law with an even steeper price. Since the royal family picked up the bill for today's wedding, it's safe to assume they also paid for Meghan's dress.
