From the outside, it appears as though Meghan Markle has adapted to being a part of the royal family incredibly easily; not only does she attend royal events like a pro, she campaigns for causes she cares about and looks totally and utterly in love with Prince Harry and baby Archie.

But, while the Duchess is clearly adapting to her new life better than most, she apparently struggles with the level of fame that comes from being married to a prince.

Despite having been relatively famous for some time, thanks to her role in Suits, a source told People that Meghan believes the fame that comes with being a royal is entirely different. “Meghan has struggled with the intensity of the spotlight,” a source close to the royal household said. “Although she is a former actress, this is on a different level. It is an isolated experience.”

The 37-year-old hinted at the difficulties earlier this week when she met Pharrell at the Lion King premiere in London. The singer told the Sussexes that they have his full support, admitting: "I mean this. It’s significant. We cheer you guys on."

In response, Meghan grasped Pharrell's arm and said: "Oh thank you. They don’t make it easy..."

It seems, from the context of conversation, that Meghan was referencing the public and the continuous judgment over her family when she said "they don't make it easy".

She and Prince Harry have taken a step back from the public eye since having Archie, keeping his Christening private and limiting pictures of him - likely because of the media intrusion they've experienced throughout their relationship.

On top of the stress of her public image, Meghan is dealing with being a mum for the first time, which we all know can be extremely overwhelming. Even mum-of-three and Meghan's sister-in-law Kate Middleton has admitted that parenting can be“lonely at times, and you do feel quite isolated. But so many other mothers are going through exactly what you are going through.”

Here's hoping the royals are leaning on each other for support.
