When it comes to fashion, Meghan Markle sticks with what works.
For Day 8 of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Royal Tour of Africa, the 38-year-old new-mom made an unannounced visit to Victoria Yards in Johannesburg, South Africa to take in works by local artisans and vendors.
The American-born royal’s wardrobe for the tour has been far more subdued than previous engagements, consisting mainly of pieces from the Sussexes 2018 tour of Australia as well as sustainable fashion items from Markle’s favourite brands, including Everlane.
The Duchess has worn several items from the ethically produced brand during the 10-day tour, namely her $163 CAD classic Japanese GoWeave Essential Jumpsuit and $211 The Editor Slingback flats. For Monday’s appearance, Markle arrived in a $148 CAD vintage-style button-front shirt dress from Wilfred and debuted another pair of the Editor Slingbacks in a bold new hue, persimmon suede.
Markle stopped by Tshepo Jeans founder and designer Tshepo Mohlala to personally pick up a pair of jeans that she had ordered several weeks prior to the royal tour, and was surprised with a pair of dungarees as a gift for her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.
About 4 weeks ago I got a call from the British embassy. The Duchess of Sussex placed an order for a pair of jeans and today she came to collect them personally...

According to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, Mohlala told Markle, “The crown on my jeans represents the three ladies who raised me. Enjoy wearing this crown.”
