The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are helping local families prepare to head back-to-school.
On Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were some of the many volunteers out in full force during Baby2Baby’s drive-thru charity event at Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary School in South Los Angeles.
The Duchess showed-off her laid-back style during the event, wearing a $610 oversized linen shirt by Victoria Beckham and a pair of loose fitting cargo shorts. The Duchess opted for a $15 blue and white seersucker face mask by Royal Jelly Harlem, a New York-based African-inspired clothing company founded by mother-daughter duo, Teta and Maya Gorgoni.
For a busy day on her feet, Markle opted for her Adidas classic Stan Smith tennis shoes.

A shoe also beloved by former President Barack Obama and musician Pharrell Williams, Markle loves the design so much, she’s even worn a vegan pair from British fashion designer Stella McCartney’s collaboration with the brand.
Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based non-profit, has helped provide mothers and children in need with diapers, formula, clothing and other basic necessities for nearly a decade. Baby2Baby “angels” include famous names such as Hilary Duff, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson.
In May 2019, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose Baby2Baby as one of four organizations to help celebrate the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Now, having relocated to California, the couple were amongst several volunteers, braving the summer heat to hand out school supplies and more to families in need.
According to a source, “everyone was in great spirits. The kids were eager to receive their books and supplies and Meghan and Harry did what they do best—engage and connect with the crowd.”
The Sussexes greeted families and helped outfit children with backpacks, delighting in one little boy’s excitement. The source added the pair were “determined to serve every last child waiting in a line that wrapped around the school” and “chatted with the families about the upcoming school year and wished all of the kids good luck.”
