How Meghan Markle Feels Missing Prince Philip’s Funeral Amid ‘All the Family Tension’

On Saturday, Prince Harry will publicly reunite with the royal family for the first time since his and Meghan Markle's big bombshell Oprah interview to attend Prince Philip's funeral. Meghan Markle won't be with him, as her doctor didn't clear her to fly to England due to her pregnancy being so far along. But despite family tensions, the Duchess of Sussex isn't exactly feeling relief getting to avoid facing the royal family, E! reports. She really wanted to be there, a source close to her said.

“Meghan wishes she could have flown to the U.K. to support her husband but has been advised not to due to her pregnancy,” the source explained. “She would have put all the family tension aside to be there with Harry.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the source added, “are still not on amazing terms with the family.”

Harry, on the other hand, feels it's better for Meghan and their unborn baby girl's health that the Duchess remains in Montecito, California. “Harry wants to make sure Meghan and the baby are healthy and not involved in stressful situations [such as Philip's very public, televised funeral],” the source said.

Page Six reported yesterday that Harry will fly back to California shortly after the funeral finishes so he can be back with Meghan and their son Archie. Meghan is due to give birth to the couple's second child this summer.

And while over there, Harry has been thinking a lot of Meghan and talking to her. Us Weekly reported on Tuesday that Harry has been in constant touch with his wife. “He’s already really missing Meghan and Archie and has been FaceTiming them every day to check in,” the source said. “He actually speaks to Meghan a few times a day because he worries [about] leaving her when she’s so far along in her pregnancy.”
