From Town & Country

In the hours following Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's untimely death, tributes have poured in from celebrities, politicians on both sides of the aisle, and those heartbroken over the loss of the feminist icon.

Notably, Joe Biden described Ginsburg by saying that she “stood for all of us.” “She practiced the highest American ideals as a justice, equality and justice under the law,” he said. For his part, upon finding out that she had died, President Trump said, “Whether you agreed or not, she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life.” And last night, hundreds of people spontaneously gathered outside the Supreme Court building in D.C. to pay their respects.

Now, Meghan Markle has issued a statement of remembrance about RBG. “With an incomparable and indelible legacy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg will forever be known as a woman of brilliance, a Justice of courage, and a human of deep conviction,” the Duchess wrote. “She has been a true inspiration to me since I was a girl. Honor her, remember her, act for her.”

The Supreme Court confirmed Friday that RBG had passed away due to “complications of metastatic pancreas cancer.” She was 87 years old.

Plans for a public memorial or televised funeral service for Ginsburg have yet to be shared publicly. Any plans will likely be complicated by safety concerns due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But, upon her passing, the Supreme Court confirmed that a private interment service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
