Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Best Moments in New Invictus Doc
Prince Harry’s docuseries Heart of Invictus premiered today on Netflix, telling the story of his Invictus Games, a sports competition for service members and veterans who are injured or ill. His wife, Duchess Meghan, doesn’t appear much in the show’s five episodes, but she does have some small cameos throughout. Here, a guide to Meghan’s appearances in Heart of Invictus, by episode:
Episode 1: The Salute to Freedom Gala
Meghan joins Harry as they arrive at the Salute to Freedom Gala in November 2021. “We haven’t done this in a while,” Harry tells her. She replies, “I know.” The gala was held at the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum in New York City, and marked a return to the red carpet for the Sussexes.
Episode 2: More Salute to Freedom
At the very start of episode two, the Sussexes sit with service members and their spouses backstage at the gala, listening to their stories. One woman talks about how her husband, a veteran, died by suicide.
Episode 4: The Invictus Games at the Hague
Meghan first appears in a planning meeting for the 2022 games in the Netherlands, and a bit later on making a speech to introduce Harry during the welcoming ceremony. “This is service, this is dedication, and this is the Invictus family,” she says. “Please welcome my incredible husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.” He gives her a kiss and says, “Thank you, my love.”
Episode 5: More Games at the Hague
In the final episode, also set during last year’s Invictus Games, Meghan appears helping Harry prepare for a speech, figuring out how to pronounce the name of the current chief of defense of the Netherlands.
