Meghan Markle traveled to and from the U.S. on a private jet, which reportedly cost around $130,000 each way and was paid for by her friend Amal Clooney, according to the Mail Online. The duchess is believed to have traveled home on the Gulfstream G450 plane and landed at Farnborough Airport on Thursday morning.

The Lebanese-British barrister co-hosted Markle’s baby shower at the Mark Hotel on Wednesday with Serena Williams. Clooney and Markle are said to have been introduced by a mutual friend, and the human rights lawyer has reportedly helped the former actress settle into London life.

Last week Clooney’s husband, George, spoke out in defense of Markle, saying she has been “pursued and vilified,” comparing the treatment of the duchess to that of Princess Diana.

Markle was spotted leaving her hotel on the Upper East Side wearing a stylish athleisure outfit and a sentimental piece of jewelry for her flight. She. The duchess, who is around seven months pregnant, wrapped up as she departed New York in a camel coat, an $88 Ingrid & Isabel active zip maternity jacket, Lululemon tights and a gorgeous ‘Mummy’ necklace. She swapped her heels for a pair of comfy Adidas Ultraboost sneakers and wore a baseball cap over her brunette locks with the word “Rectify” written across it.

While some believed there was a cryptic message behind that accessory, it was actually a promotional hat from her friend Abigail Spencer’s show Rectify. The TV drama series, which ran from 2013 to 2016, explored the life of a man after he was released from prison after nearly 20 years on death row following a wrongful conviction. Spencer played Amantha Holden, the man’s younger sister, who always believed in his innocence.

She and Markle both starred in the legal drama Suits and were spotted heading out to lunch together on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s baby shower.

The duchess is believed to have spent around five days in New York catching up with some of her closest friends, including Clooney, Williams and Spencer.

Her pals hosted her lavish baby shower at the Mark, reportedly in the penthouse suite, which runs for $78,000 a night. The day before the bash, a team of florists was pictured delivering bouquets of pink roses, and orange and yellow tulips, as well as an orange tree, to the venue. Also delivered was a large box from the modern, eco-friendly nursery-furniture brand Babyletto.

Markle’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, shared a photo on Instagram of the cookies that guests were given at the party.

According to Marie Claire, the NYC baby shower was the first of two celebrations. A smaller gathering has apparently been scheduled for friends in the U.K. after Markle returns from a trip to Morocco this weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will fly to Morocco on Saturday for a three-day visit, at the request of the U.K. government.
