The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived hand-in-hand for the final day of their royal tour of Africa fresh on the heels of announcing a lawsuit against the publishers of the Daily Mail. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put on a united front as they arrived for a visit to Yes4Youth, an organization that provides the tools and resources to South African youth for social and economic success.
Dressed in a Tencel Shirt Dress by ethical South African designer Hannah Lavery accessorized with $30 CAD stone and tassel earrings from Madewell, a serene looking Markle met with local youth to learn about the struggles of youth unemployment. The fashionable royal has used the 10 day tour of Africa to reveal an understated sense of style that combines fashion with function. The royal’s penchant for tailored shirt and trench dresses has become a uniform for the Duchess, opting to remix pieces from her own personal wardrobe instead of wearing new designer looks for each engagement.
Markle made a quick change before heading to the couple’s second engagement of the day, a visit with Graça Machel, Nelson Mandela’s widow. The royal greeted Machel in a $1,085 CAD trench coat dress from Canadian designer House of Nonie, a look previously worn in 2018 to attend the opening of the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition.
Following their meeting with Machal, the couple attended a reception to discuss the relationship between the United Kingdom and South Africa.
In a moving speech, Markle alluded to her own feelings of despair in a message to the young people in attendance.

“When you constantly see and hear negativity, it can be overwhelming; you can feel powerless, and lost, you can feel different, confused, or like you just don’t belong,” Markle said. “And I’m sure there is a young girl or boy watching this and thinking the exact same thing... In a world that that can seem so aggressive, confrontational, and dangerous, you should know that you have the power to change it.”
The royal couple are scheduled to depart for the United Kingdom later this evening.
