The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived at the WellChild Awards in London, an event designed to celebrate the inspirational courage shown by seriously ill children across the UK.

Prince Harry has been patron of the charity since 2007 and tonight marks Meghan Markle’s debut appearance at the annual awards ceremony.

For the occasion, the former actress suited up in Altuzarra’s ‘Acacia’ blazer and co-ordinating £525 slick black trousers from the label’s pre-spring 2019 collection. The Duchess teamed the flared look with a silk blouse by Swedish label, Deitas (approx £321).

The 37-year-old kept accessories minimal with a £723 clutch by Stella McCartney and her go-to messy low bun.

The royal newlyweds met winners from each award category and their families at a star-studded reception prior to the awards. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also introduced to dedicated doctors, nurses, volunteers and carers.

Following suit from last year, Prince Harry is expected to give a speech later this evening.

Since returning from their month-long hiatus, it seems the royal couple have resumed their jam-packed schedule.

Their most recent public engagement was a special performance of hit musical Hamilton on 29 August in aid of Sentebale – the HIV charity co-founded by Prince Harry.

Royal fans will be pleased to learn that the newlyweds are set to make another appearance this week too, as they will attend a gala concert in London on Thursday 6 September.

The evening of music is titled ‘100 Days to Peace’ and will be held at Central Hall Westminster. Those of you hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal pair can even bag a seat next to them, as tickets for the prestigious event are now on sale.
