The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made it to the Big Apple! The royals are in New York City this weekend to participate in Global Citizen Live, a concert aiming to promote equal access to the Covid vaccine. Though the concert isn't until Saturday, Harry and Meghan are already in New York and making some other visits. Today, the Duke and Duchess ventured to the One World Trade Center observatory and met with a few New York government officials. Later in the day, Meghan and Harry met with UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

In the morning, the Duke and Duchess were joined by Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Bill De Blasio, and De Blasio's wife and son, Chirlane McCray and Dante de Blasio. The group met at 8am at the observatory on top of the massive building, and then returned to ground level to see the 9/11 memorial.

“It’s wonderful to be back,” Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, said, per royal reporter Omid Scobie.

Appropriate for a New York visit, Meghan wore all black, as is a trope of Manhattan attire. She sported wide leg dress pants, a black turtleneck top, and a long, blazer-style coat. She wore her hair in a slicked back bun and paired the outfit with pointed toe heels. According to fashion blog Meghan's Mirror, Meghan's coat was from Emporio Armani and her heels were her beloved Aquazzura Purist pumps.

Later in the day, Meghan and Harry joined Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield to discuss a variety of issues and current events. The Ambassador posted about the meeting on her Twitter account, along with two photos of the couple.

"Wonderful meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex," Thomas-Greenfield wrote. "Important discussion of COVID, racial justice, and raising mental health awareness."

For the second part of her Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex didn't complete a full outfit change, but instead tweaked parts of her look. She swapped out her black coat for a camel Max Mara version and changed from trousers into a skirt.

This trip is the Duchess of Sussex's first time making appearances outside of California since she gave birth to baby Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in June. It's unclear whether the Duke and Duchess will make more public appearances before the Saturday concert. Global Citizen Live is a 24-hour event will be broadcast throughout the world from Central Park's Great Lawn. For U.S. viewers, the event will begin streaming on Apple TV, YouTube, Twitter, and Global Citizen's website at 1 p.m. ET.
