Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their first official appearance together at the Invictus Games opening ceremony in Toronto on Saturday, but the world was more captivated with what the 36-year-old star was wearing.
During the opening ceremony, Markle charmed the crowd in a maroon-truffle Wilfred Beaune midi dress by Aritzia. Made with chiffon, the $185 dress featured a wrap silhouette with a sunburst pleat bottom and a self-tie waist. The “Suits” actress complemented the look with a leather Mackage moto jacket that featured a fold-over collar, notched lapels and exposed zippers at the pockets. The truffle-toned dress was such a hit that it already sold out (sound a bit like the Kate Middleton effect, anyone?!)
But it was the casual chic look Markle rocked on Monday that has people talking — the shirt she wore, specifically, might have a special meaning. While taking in a wheelchair tennis match with Harry, the actress wore a $230 CAD ($185 US) white shirt by designer Misha Nonoo. Dubbed “The Husband Shirt,” it has sparked more than a few engagement rumours! Markle complemented the shirt with a pair of ripped jeans and $600 tan leather shoes by Sarah Flint. She finished the look with a $200 CAD cognac leather tote by Everlane and $200 Finlay & Co sunglasses.
