After months of speculation, the nation can finally rest easy as the soon-to-be newlyweds’ press secretary has finally given a major update on the upcoming royal wedding.

It was beginning to look unlikely that her father would attend the May 19 ceremony let alone walk his daughter down the aisle, as a consequence to rumours from estranged family members.

In an open letter addressed to Prince Harry, Meghan’s half-brother – Thomas Markle Jnr – accused the 36-year-old of being a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman” for not inviting any family to the big day.

At one point, speculation was rife that her mother – Doria Ragland – would instead take on the duty of walking Meghan down the aisle at St George’s Chapel. However, she will be sitting in the pews according to Kensington Palace’s latest update.

The couple’s press secretary wrote: “Mr. Thomas Markle and Ms. Doria Ragland will be arriving in the UK in the week of the wedding, allowing time for Prince Harry’s family, including The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to spend time with them before the big day.”

And that’s not all, as other need-to-know details have emerged from the tell-all document.

How will the big day unfold?

On the morning of May 19

Ms. Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by car to Windsor Castle. Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel. Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion.

When royal fans from across the glove tune in, the first thing they will see is Harry and Meghan’s wedding guests arriving at the venue between 9.30am and 11am. They will arrive by coach at the Round Tower and will enter St George’s Chapel from the South Door.

Members of the royal family will begin to arrive at 11.20am and will enter via the Galilee Porch. Prince Harry and his best man, the Duke of Cambridge, will arrive via the West Steps. This will give Harry chance to greet the 200 charity charity representatives invited to the nuptials.

While the royal family begin to arrive, a separate camera will film Meghan and her mother’s departure from the bride-to-be’s hotel location. They will then travel across the Long Walk where they will be met by flag-bearing crowds. They will also make a brief stop at Windsor Castle where Doria Ragland will head into the chapel and Meghan will be joined by her bridesmaids and pageboys.

On the afternoon of May 19

The wedding service is estimated to last an hour and once it has concluded, the newlyweds will leave the chapel to greet the 200 charity representatives invited to the ceremony. They will then embark upon their carriage procession which is likely to take around 25 minutes.

This is the final public aspect to their nuptials, as the couple will then head to Frogmore House for the evening reception.

Will Prince Louis attend the royal wedding?

In rather unsurprising news, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child – Prince Louis of Cambridge – will most likely not attend the nuptials. The fifth in line to the throne is not yet two-weeks-old and several royal experts have taken to Twitter to speculate.

Will Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a role at the royal wedding?

It’s interesting to note that several royal experts have suggested that Meghan has not chosen a maid of honour. In the official statement, it has been confirmed that Meghan will be joined by bridesmaids and page boys before she enters St George’s Chapel.

Details on whether Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been given these roles will be confirmed in the week before the wedding but it’s looking likely.

How will Princess Diana be honoured at the May 19 ceremony?

Ever since their engagement, speculation has been rife as to how the soon-to-be newlyweds will honour Princess Diana.

According to Kensington Palace, Harry is keen to involve his late mother’s family in the wedding.

The statement reads: “All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading. Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day.”

When will the royal wedding pictures be released?

For royal fans who cannot wait to see Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, hold tight. According to the official statement, the couple’s wedding photographs – taken by engagement photographer Alexi Lubomirski – will be released during the week after the ceremony.

Harry and Meghan have postponed their honeymoon

According to the newly-released document, Harry and Meghan have decided to postpone their honeymoon in order to carry out their first royal engagement as a married couple.

It has not yet been confirmed where the couple will spend their honeymoon though reports suggest that they could return to Botswana where they fell in love beneath the stars.

Following their 2011 nuptials, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to the Seychelles for a break away from the media spotlight.
