Queen delighted audiences at The Oscars last night as they opened the awards ceremony with 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are the Champions' in front of an A-list audience.

But one person who was not impressed with their performance was Spice Girls Mel B, who wanted “more pizzazz”.

Mel B was appearing on Good Morning Britain alongside Queen drummer Roger Taylor where she told him exactly what she thought about his performance with singer Adam Lambert.

Never one to hold her tongue, she said: “I did say that I wanted more pizzazz but you can’t get away from the opening of the Oscars being what it is.

“There’s pressure, there’s a lot of eyeballs on it and Adam Lambert, the whole thing, did do great I just wanted more pizzazz, sorry.”

When Roger asked her if she meant from the whole show, she replied: “Just from the opening number.”

Host Susanna Reid begged the musician “please don’t walk” but thankfully, Roger laughed off the awkward incident.

Roger also spoke to Susanna and her co-host Piers Morgan about Rami Malek’s performance as lead singer Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, which scooped him the Best Actor award.

"He was amazing, he has a great intensity and he’s had a clean sweep of all the awards, good for him, he’s such a great guy. He has a lot of Freddie’s qualities and he’s floating on air."

Roger added: "He got really close spiritually, he had it in the eyes, he was in a different body. He was physically different to Freddie, but he was incredible in the role."
