Melania Trump saluted summer wearing a canary-yellow floor-length gown and pink suede pumps.
The first lady wore the ensemble to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the White House on Monday. The $2,160 bright yellow belted crepe gown by Emilio Pucci was adorned with black-and-white flowers that popped against her pink suede Christian Louboutin heels — the same pair she wore to the June 22 Congressional Picnic.
According to CNN, Modi’s first visit to the White House was a show of unity and military cooperation between the two nations despite tensions between India and Pakistan. “I want to make a point here that U.S. relationships with India and Pakistan really stand on their own merits and terms,” a White House official told CNN. “We don’t see a zero-sum relationship when it comes to the U.S. relationship with Pakistan and the U.S. relationship with India.”

During public remarks, per Business Insider, President Trump said of Modi, “I enjoyed our very productive conversation this afternoon, and look forward to its continuation tonight at dinner. The future of our partnership has never looked brighter. India and the United States are always tied together in friendship and respect.”
The two men also hugged at the podium.
A White House official even told CNN that the two leaders shared common ground with their Twitter popularity — Trump has more than 32 million followers to Modi’s 31 million — saying, “I think President Trump is slightly ahead of Modi, but I think this shows the kind of leaders they are.”
The Washington Post also reported that first daughter Ivanka Trump will be traveling to India to attend an entrepreneurship summit, on the heels of a controversial Fox & Friends interview during which she said, “I try to stay out of politics.”
