Melania Trump Meets with Prince Harry
This weekend, Melania Trump is making her inaugural solo trip out of the country as first lady. While in Toronto for the Invictus Games, an international competition for wounded and sick servicemen and women, she met with Prince Harry, the founder and patron of the event.

Melania's trip carries on a tradition former first lady Michelle Obama started. In the initial few years of the Games, Obama was involved, even appearing in a series of video messages with then-President Barack Obama, Prince Harry, and the Queen showcasing the friendly rivalry between the U.S. and U.K. in 2016.
No such videos were made this year, perhaps indicating that the Trumps don't share the same congenial relationship with the royals as the Obamas did.
According to the first lady's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, Melania's decision to lead the American delegation at the Games reflects the first lady’s “utmost respect” for the hard work, courage and sacrifice of the U.S. military.
"She feels strongly that they - and their families - should be honored every day," Grisham said.
Grisham said Mrs. Trump also has "great admiration for the role the games have played in empowering those who have been injured while serving."
While in Canada, the first lady also has plans to meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, to give remarks at a reception for the American athletes in the competition and to attend the Invictus Games opening ceremony later today.
