Melania Trump’s 'I really don't care, do u?' Zara Jacket Is Selling on eBay for Almost $1000

On June 21, Melania Trumpwas seen on her way to visit detained migrant children at the Texas border wearing a Zara jacket that had “I really don’t care, do u?” written on the back. Since then, the Internet has exploded with criticism over the blatantly tone-deaf meaning behind the jacket and Melania's subsequent silence about it.

Almost a week later, the jacket is being sold on eBay for hundreds of dollars more than it's worth.

According to The Washington Post, several versions of the Zara coat are being sold on online auction house eBay, hitting prices close to $1,000. While one jacket has reached a current bid of $610, another has reached $895. The publication also reported that the bidding war ended for yet another on Tuesday for $500. Considering the parka originally sold in the store a few years ago for only $39, that’s quite the markup.

While these eBay sales might be a way for current owners of the jacket to cash in on the controversy, there are brands who have made similar styles for a good reason. Feminist fashion brand, Wildfang fixed the phrasing using a similar parka that they make writing ["I Really Do Care, Don't U"]https://www.teenvogue.com/story/wildfang-sold-out-i-really-do-care-jackets). They ultimately raised $250,000 in sales that went directly to RAICES, an organization that provides legal services to immigrants and refugees.

However, if you're not in the market for new clothing, ireallydocare.com was set up as a resource to find ways to help children separated from their parents at the border.
