Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson Got Married

From Cosmopolitan

Both Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson have been detailing their wedding plans for months - but in a surprising twist, it turns out the wedding may have already happened.

Multiple sources report that the Olympian and former beauty queen secretly tied the knot last June with an intimate ceremony in Paradise Valley, Arizona. According to People, the couple’s close friend Peter Carlisle officiated the wedding, and later that night, Nicole shared a sweet photograph with her husband and their son Boomer to Instagram.

"Such a memorable night with my lil fambam," she wrote. "Boomer obviously didn’t want to hold still."

Neither have yet confirmed the news, but according to TMZ, the couple filed their marriage license on June 15.

Michael proposed to Nicole in February 2015, and the pair welcomed their first child together in May 2016. Boomer soon after became the no. 1 style icon at the Rio Olympics and a huge social media star.

The news of their secret wedding comes as a surprise for many fans: Both have been extremely vocal in interviews about their "upcoming" wedding and how excited they are to finally get hitched. Just last week, Michael straight-up denied that they were already married, and neither has been shy about discussing wedding planning.

"I took on everything, obviously, because he had to focus on going to the games," Nicole told Cosmopolitan.com last August. "And now I’m like, ’What do you think about this and what do you think about that?’"

"I know Michael well enough to know he doesn’t need to partake in the tiny, minuscule decisions," she continued. "But I also know him well enough to know that he does want to be involved in what flavor our cake is going to be and what flowers he thinks are ugly and what flowers he thinks are really pretty. I show him pictures and I ask what he thinks and he’ll either brush it off, which means he doesn’t really care, or he’ll give me his opinion."

As recently as two weeks ago, Nicole shared a photo to Instagram from Bridal Fashion Week, teasing the caption, "Eenie meenie miney mo." It’s not far-fetched to assume this might mean the couple is planning a bigger wedding to celebrate their marriage - and if we’re lucky, Boomer will be the ring bearer.

Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
