Miley Cyrus denies "cheating" ended her marriage to Liam Hemsworth
Update 8/22/19: Miley Cyrus has broken her silence about her impending divorce from Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth in a series of tweets.
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer referenced her past experimentation with drugs and risqué music while insisting that infidelity was not the reason the couple chose to separate less than a year after marrying.
"I can accept that the life I've chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time," she tweeted.
"What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide. It is no secret that I was into partying in my teens and early 20's.
"I have not only smoked, but advocated for weed, I've experimented with drugs, my biggest song to date is about dancing on molly and snorting lines in the bathroom. I f**ked up and cheated in relationships when I was young.
"I lost a massive Walmart deal at 17 for ripping a bong. I got kicked off hotel Transylvania for buying Liam a penis cake for his birthday and licking it. I swung on a wrecking ball naked. There are probably more nudes of me on the internet than maybe any woman in history."
Cyrus then reinforced that those wild experiences from her past were not relevant to her present.
"The truth is, once Liam & I reconciled,I meant it, & I was committed," she wrote. "There are NO secrets to uncover here. I've learned from every experience in my life. I'm not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring. I've grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP.
"I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I've said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.
"BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time. You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking , foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar.
"I am proud to say, I am simply in a different place from where i was when I was a younger."
Earlier this week, Hemsworth filed for divorce in a California court, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the pair's separation.
Update (August 21, 2019): Just ten days after the couple announced their separation, Liam Hemsworth has filed for divorce from his wife Miley Cyrus.
According to TMZ, Hemsworth filed documents in a Los Angeles court room seeking the disillusionment of his marriage after less than a year. He has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split.
Two weeks ago, the couple announced that separating would be "what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers".

Original: After finally tying the knot back in December 2018, Miley Cyrus and The Hunger Games' Liam Hemsworth have now decided to part ways.
The pair have endured an on-off relationship over the years since they met on the movie set for 2009's The Last Song but, after a few break-ups and make-ups along the way, Miley confirmed they were engaged in October 2016.
The couple surprised fans by confirming they'd gotten gotten married in December last year, but less than a year later Miley's representative has now confirmed the news of the couple's split in a statement to PEOPLE magazine.
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," the statement read. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

The news also comes after the singer prompted speculation over her marriage earlier this week when she shared a new photo on Instagram and could be seen without her wedding ring.

Back in 2017, Miley explained how she "needed to change" in order to make things work with Liam after their previous break-up.
"I needed to change so much," she said. "And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. We had to re-fall for each other."
