Millie Bobby Brown wants people to stop criticizing her friendship with 31-year-old Drake
Millie Bobby Brown is speaking out after fans expressed concern about the 14-year-old’s friendship with 31-year-old Drake — with some even accusing the rapper of “grooming” the young star.
The controversy kicked off after the Emmys on Monday night. Brown, who was nominated for her role as Eleven on Stranger Things, gave a red carpet interview to Access Hollywood about her bond with the “In My Feelings” performer.
“I met him in Australia, and he’s honestly so fantastic — a great friend and a great role model,” Brown said. “We just texted each other the other day, and he was like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I miss you more.’”
She added that the Canadian musician — a former teen star himself — gives her dating advice. “He helps me,” she said. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. He’s great. He’s wonderful. I love him.”

But many reacted to Brown’s comments with horror, claiming that it was inappropriate and “creepy” for a grown man to have a friendship with an underage girl.
Brown isn’t happy with the backlash. The teen took to Instagram Stories on Thursday to post a message addressing the speculation about her friendship.
The actress accused critics of being “weird” by reading too much into the relationship, adding that she was grateful to have the support of friends like Drake.
“I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance,” she wrote. “I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life. You don’t get to choose that for me.”
The Brit also thanked those fans who had her back amid the slams. Her posts don’t seem to have calmed the concerns, however, with many on social media still voicing discomfort.
