Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and her other half Wells Adams were meant to get married over the weekend, but due to certain reasons we are all too familiar with, that didn't happen.

Still, the pair made the most of the occasion, getting dressed up in (mostly) all-white and heading to a picturesque ridge to spend some quality time with each other. And drink wine, of course. Basically, a real wedding.

Sharing some snaps on her Instagram, Sarah wrote: "A couple, a pandemic and a postponed wedding: A series. We were supposed to get married today. Instead... we took pictures and drank wine. I love you to Pluto and back."

Wells also shared a picture from the day, adding the caption: "We were supposed to get married today. We didn't. But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool."

Modern Family came to an end this year, and while Sarah has nothing but kind words to say about the cast and crew and the support they've shown her during her health battles, she has admitted to being disappointed with her character Haley Dunphy's storylines in the final season.

The actress said she would liked to have seen Haley "own her badassery in the fashion world – becoming a badass stylist or brand mogul or anything like that.

"There are so many amazing mothers who are also hard workers and excel at their jobs and kill it every day in both aspects. That would have been a really cool thing to see, especially from someone like Haley."
