A mother who had three babies in under one year recently shared a candid photo of her post-baby belly to prove she’s not embarrassed by the scars — and to help other moms who might feel hesitant about their bodies after giving birth.
Eliza Curby gave birth to her first baby, Charlie, in January 2016. Six weeks later she fell pregnant with identical twin boys, born December 2016.
“Just because,” she captioned next to a photo of her post-baby belly to her Instagram account twingenuity — a blog where she documents her journey about having three babies in a year.
“Because I’m not embarrassed of the scars my body now carries. Because I’m proud of what my body has done for me. Because many women feel the need to hide it.”
“Because famous women post ;look at my body just three weeks postpartum’ and portray unrealistic images of what it means to be a mother.”
“Because I feel beautiful in my own skin – even if there’s alotttt of it! Because beauty takes many forms. Because I can. Because you should also be proud. This is me… because I love my body.”
Her post resonated with moms from across the globe, who praised her for being bold enough to post raw, real photos.
“Thank you for speaking out loud for so many women,” wrote @akhalbeauty. “R.E.S.P.E.C.T and please continue to inspire us.”
“Me too!” wrote @missymaki. “My extra skin is just fine. So are my few extra pounds. My twins are happy and healthy!!!”
Even men chimed in.
“Beautiful. My wife worries sometimes about her mum-tum,” wrote proud father and husband @200percentdad. “I’ve never found her more attractive than as a mom. Her body is testament to the miracle that is pregnancy.”
Curby recently commented on Beyonce’s post-pregnancy body, giving a nod to “Queen B in all her glory: “Beyoncé – amazing. Twins – amazing. Photo – amazing,” she captioned next to the viral portrait Beyonce posed for after the birth of her twins Sir Carter and Rumi.
In the photo, taken one month after the twins were born, Beyonce looked incredible in a floral dress with a blue veil while standing in front of an altar adorned with roses.
The photo was gorgeous, but some couldn’t help but notice how perfect Beyoncé’s body looked so soon after giving birth — something not every mother could achieve.

As amazing Beyonce looked, Curby noted that “the lack of evidence of having had twins,” isn’t the choice she would have made — such photos might even set unrealistic expectations for new mothers to get their bodies back to their pre-pregnancy days as quickly as possible, she told Scary Mommy.
“But each to their own,” she finished her post. “Here’s to the Beyoncé’s, the ‘bounce back’ bods, the twin tum mums and all of us – in all our glory. Not better – not worse – just different.”
