Original, February 28, 2017: Almost one-third of moms in the U.S. give birth via C-section right now, for a whole host of valid and medically-necessary reasons. But one birth photographer apparently doesn't agree with any of them, according to a screenshot posted on Sanctimommy.

In an unverified and anonymous exchange, the prospective hire told an expecting mom, "A surgery isn't birth, my dear." If that wasn't insulting enough, she goes on to say, "That is not birth no matter how you swing it and I for one don't want to be there to take pictures of it. If you decide to give motherhood a go ... let me know and we can schedule your session." Um, no thanks.

But it gets even worse. To top it all off, the "professional" went on to shame the parent for the procedure, writing, "This motherhood job is hard; if I were you I would think twice about starting such a job by cutting corners."

While some moms do request the procedure, the recipient says she didn't "opt" for it. Doctors often advise a Cesarean delivery when medical complications come up, including problems with the placenta or the position of the baby.

More importantly, C-sections come with scary risks and problems of their own. After all, it is surgery. In no way, shape or form is it cutting corners. According to the Mayo Clinic, "Recovery from a C-section takes longer than does recovery from a vaginal birth. "

While this person is supposedly a birth photographer, it's pretty clear he or she clearly doesn't know very much about giving birth at all.

Update, March 1, 2017: Many have questioned the truth of this woman's claims, so take this story with a grain of salt. It is the internet, after all.
