Mom slammed for organizing a zombie-themed photo shoot for her 1-year-old son

An Australian mother has come up against a wave of backlash after she organized a zombie cake smash for her son’s first birthday.

Amy Louise, who has over 21,000 followers on Instagram, claims she was removed from a Facebook mothers’ group because there was such uproar over the photo shoot.

However, the mom didn’t care, because with the help of photographer Amanda Queen, the photo shoot helped celebrate and remember the unusual story of how her son Phoenix came into the world.

“I was, in all honesty, slaughtered by these mothers — but they didn’t know our story,” she wrote for Kidspot.

The mother of two said she was sure she had lost her baby when she gave birth on Halloween and saw doctors desperately trying to resuscitate him.

It took 10 minutes before she realized what the defeated looks on the doctors’ faces meant.

“Nine months of hell just to bury my son,” she wrote. “I couldn’t believe it.”

As she was trying to process what was happening, she suddenly heard a nurse scream that he had “come back” and that her baby son wasn’t lost after all.

It was four days before she got to meet her precious boy for the first time. She immediately called him her “zombie baby.”

When it came to celebrating his first birthday, she went all out and organized the zombie cake smash for her little boy.

“I think a zombie-themed cake smash for his first birthday was awesome, especially since P was born still and came back from the dead on Halloween,” she wrote on Instagram.
