Mom of twins will teach you to love your stretch marks

When Hayley Garnett’s toddler son pointed at her postpartum stretch marks, she took it as a chance to enlighten him.

“What’s wrong with your belly?” little Archer asked, noticing new lines on her tummy. A week had past since newborn twins, Ramona and Ruby, had arrived.

“I told him that all of my babies leave marks on my belly so I never forget that I grew them in my body all on my own,” the mom-of-three explained.

She shared the sentiment on Instagram, alongside a snap of her postpartum tummy and newborn girls nestled on either side.

“Whether I’m truly confident having these marks or not, it’s no doubt a testament to the miracles my body has made,” the post continued.

The Missouri-based photographer has racked up more than 50,000 followers thanks to raw images and candid captions. In an interview with Scary Mommy, she rejoices in having reached so many moms.

“I am not the first and nor will I be the last to share postpartum photos of my body,” said Garnett. “But I’ve always embraced my own vulnerability through my words and photos and I think it’s so important to share that with those who may feel similarly.”
