Who Needs Wrist Candy? Rihanna Wore a $400,000 Jacob & Co. Ankle Watch to the Las Vegas Grand Prix

Rihanna wanted her ankle to shine bright on Saturday night.

The Barbadian singer wore a dazzling Jacob & Co. wristwatch as an anklet at a Puma event that was held as part of the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Made from 18-karat white gold, the striking custom timepiece showcases a distinctive square dial, a delicate three-strand bracelet, and some 70 carats of diamonds (155 separate stones). RiRi paired the anklet with black Balenciaga pantaleggings ($4,550), a black leather jacket, and a pair of black shades. She also rocked a Messika choker, ring, and ear clip.

This is not the first time the “Diamonds” singer has teamed up with Jacob & Co. to challenge the horological status quo. Back in June, she wore one of the watchmaker’s pieces around her neck during Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton debut fashion show in Paris. The Brilliant Flying Tourbillon was crafted from white gold and set with a total of 368 diamonds, no less. The watch necklace is priced at $700,000, while the watch anklet costs $400,000.

Rihanna has already proved she can pull off just about anything with bling. (Remember her ostentatious diamond grills or her $600,000 diamond toe ring?) She clearly has impeccable taste in wrist candy, too. She’s previously sported pieces by Rolex and Cartier. And the bonkers Jacob & Co. skeleton watch she rocked during her lauded Super Bowl performance made its own headlines.

RiRi’s other favorite accessory is her partner A$AP Rocky. The stylish duo attended the Puma Suite on Saturday, along with Usain Bolt, Breanna Stewart, Jackie Young, Chris Brickley, Molly Seide, and other celebs. Puma recently named Rocky as the creative director of its new F1 partnership. The rapper dropped his first line of racing-inspired streetwear at the Vegas GP.

Rihanna’s brand Fenty has also teamed up with Puma to create an array of trendy sneakers. In fact, the pair just released a new riff on the popular Fenty x Puma Creeper. RiRi showed off the kicks this weekend as she boarded her private jet in Sin City, naturally. The new Creeper Phatty will be available worldwide on November 30. At $140 a pop, the shoes are a lot more affordable than a six-figure Jacob & Co. creation, too.
