Bean is all about that pug life.

Even though, as we all know, there’s no such thing as a bad dog, Bean the pug was held in police custody — and also got her mugshot taken and posted on social media — just like a real-life criminal! Her crime? Stealing our hearts.

Police in Cape May, N.J., released the “#pugmug” on Sunday after the dog was found “sneaking through yards.” The officers joked, “This is what happens when you run away from home.”

The police were quick to apprehend the trespasser and lock her away. It is unknown whether the dog was read her Miranda rights or asked to speak to her attorney since … she’s a dog.

According to Cape May Police Chief Anthony Marino, Bean was cordial and friendly during her brief stint in lockup. She spent most of her time following one of the officers around.

“She didn’t even need a leash; she followed me around. I just said ‘C’mon girl,’ so I thought I’d give her a tour of the station and take her to her cell just like I would anybody,” Patrolman Michael LeSage, who found Bean, told ABC News. “We just hung out at the station here and had a good time.”

Less than an hour after her pugshot was posted on Facebook, the owner reached out to the police in order to pay her bail.

Bail came in the form of cookies for the officers.

Hopefully, this will be a lesson for Bean to stay on the right side of the law — and the right side of her fence.
