Nicole Kidman is one of the biggest names going (especially while we're all completely obsessed with Sky's The Undoing), but even she struggled as a teenager. In a recent interview she opened up about feeling fearful and insecure when she was growing up due to her height.

"I was a teenager who wouldn’t conform, but I had a lot of fears and insecurities because I was very tall. I was 5ft10in' by the time I was 13 years old," she told Glamour UK.

Speaking about her new Netflix series, The Prom, Kidman discussed what attending her own prom as a teenager was like.

"I wore a 1920s flapper dress, which goes along with my 'not conforming' sensibility," she said. "I bought it in a vintage store and I just loved the idea of a flapper dress, it was black and white beading - it was definitely not tulle and big skirts. I think I remember getting a little drunk too, which is probably a lot of people’s experiences at their prom or formal."

The Prom tells the story of four Broadway actors who decide they want to champion a cause to improve their reputations. Dee Dee Allen (Meryl Streep) and Barry Glickman (James Corden) are out of work after the expensive musical they're starring in shuts down after just one night, and their careers come to a standstill.

Dee Dee and Barry join up with fellow Broadway stars Angie Dickson (Nicole Kidman) and Trent Oliver (Andrew Rannells) and end up traveling to Indiana to help high school student Emma after they hear that her prom was cancelled because she wanted to go with her girlfriend.

The Prom is being released on Netflix on 11 December.
