Nightmare scenario sends 'Naked & Afraid' contestant home early: 'Crawling into my private parts'

On Sunday's Naked and Afraid, a contestant by the name of Meghann had to deal with a terrifying bug situation. The 27-year-old from Flagstaff, Ariz., was the victim of aggressive biting insects who had no respect for privacy.

"The feeling of them crawling into my private parts and areas of my body that I don't want them in is just a little too much for me," Meghann said. At night, Meghann was unable to get any sleep due to the bugs attacking her, claiming she never slept for more than 30 minutes. Uncomfortable, in pain and in tears, Meghann can be heard saying, "They're swarming me. They crawl up in-between my vagina lips. I can't handle it."

While battling the conditions of the Chihuahuan Desert, swarms of biting gnats and a colony of ants tormented Meghann to the point that she quit barely four days into the 21-day challenge. While disappointed for her, fans understood that it was a nightmare situation.

During her extraction, Meghann reflected on her survivalist skills and came to accept some truths. "I don't really belong out in the wilderness like this," she said. "My body, it's not really strong enough, I guess. It's just amazing how hard it can be."

Naked and Afraid airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Discovery.
