Normani's hair stylist shares the secrets to her natural waist-length type 4 hair
Ok, so obsessing over length can be pretty toxic. Length isn't everything; especially important to note for afro hair textures, for which it doesn't always come so easily. This is thanks to shrinkage, breakage, increased sensitivity to products, and of course, every individual's growth speed. Health over length people.

OMFG have you seen how long Normani's natural hair is? I'm dying, how did she get it so long? Honestly wow.
Her hair stylist Ashanti Lation, who Normani called "The greatest to everrrrrr do it 🤎🙌🏾🫶🏽🙏🏾", in the comments, just shared a video to Instagram of the singer's hair during a maintenance appointment, and when blown out her hair is now sailing to waist-length. Ashanti wrote in the caption; "Inches!!! Baby we bout to have @normani hair at the bottom of her back this year (subtle flex)."
And it really is a flex. Nurturing type 4 hair (the tightest kinky afro textures) to this length with it being still so thick and healthy, not to mention dyed. It can feel like all the odds are stacked against you, but hair like Normani's really does flip the bird to the idea that afro hair, particularly type 4, can't grow long.
While, yes, some kinky and coily girls' hair is naturally strong, grows fast, and length isn't hard to achieve; that's not the reality for most. It takes a lot of care and attention. So natch' when we see hair as long as Normani's we want to know how it was achieved.
Ashanti teased sharing her methods in the caption, writing; "Y’all want me to drop the hair regimen or nah? Let me know in the comments or drop a ♥️." - I mean is that a rhetorical question? She's taunting us.
Though she did share as a taster that "Consistency is key!" and that the Greux Drops by her brand VIP Luxury Haircare are 'Major". The drops have a five star rating from 633 reviews, so it's seems she's not exaggerating.
