Now people are criticizing Meghan Markle for cradling her baby bump: 'She's such an actress'

Between her father’s explosive interviews, palace gossip pitting her against Kate Middleton, and even threats from neo-Nazi groups, Meghan Markle is getting heat from all sides. Now she’s really riled up her haters — merely by touching her baby bump.

The duchess, who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in the spring, made a surprise appearance at Monday’s British Fashion Awards to present an award to Clare Waight Keller, the Givenchy designer who created her wedding dress. Throughout the presentation, Meghan (gasp!) lovingly placed her two hands on her bump, swathed in a slinky, one-shoulder black velvet Givenchy gown.

It’s a gesture common to countless pregnant women, but Meghan’s cradling move has irked some trolls, who call it overly posed and smug. Among the negative reactions was a tweet comparing her to actress Demi Moore, who famously cradled her baby bump in the nude.

As it happens, Khloé Kardashian caught similar flak during her pregnancy with daughter True, prompting the reality star to fire back that she would “touch my bump and love my bump as often I choose,” noting that she had tried to get pregnant for a long time and wanted to enjoy the experience.

Enough said. The constant cradling also gave critics the chance to pick at another supposed transgression of Meghan’s, as it showed off her fashion-forward — and reportedly protocol-breaking — black nail polish.

Dark nails, physical contact with her future child… what ever will she dare to do next?
