Olivia Munn’s son just hit a major milestone.

The Newsroom actress welcomed her first child with partner John Mulaney in November 2021, and has updated her Instagram followers on her little one’s milestones over the months. On Friday, she shared a photo of Malcolm sitting up from behind on her Instagram Story, along with a caption about how important this moment was for the family.

“He turned 7 months today AND he sat up on his own!!!!!” she gushed. “Big day for us.”

This is just one of many photos Munn, 41, has shared of her new son on Instagram. Earlier this week, she posted a photo of Malcolm getting to know friend Jon Stewart. On June 10, she posted a video of Mulaney making Malcolm laugh.

Earlier this month, the New Girl alum took to Instagram to share an update on motherhood.

"My body hasn't snapped back, but it made this little guy so I only have love for it,” she wrote on a video of her holding her son. She captioned the post, “The postpartum road is rough, but it's so worth it.”

Munn also used social media to talk about the infant formula crisis. On Twitter, she pointed out some of the more frustrating comments people say to parents and caregivers who are trying to find ways to feed their babies.

“It’s so crazy when people say ‘if you breastfeed you won’t have to worry about the formula shortage!’ I have low milk supply, so to keep my baby fed I depend on formula,” she explained in the tweet. “I wish I could breastfeed so I wouldn’t be panicking about the shortage right now. But I don’t have a choice.”

The new mom first spoke out about this issue in January, when she revealed to her followers that she was struggling to produce enough milk to feed Malcolm.

"Breastfeeding is soooo hard. Especially if you have low supply," she wrote in an Instagram post. "8 weeks in and I've taken a million vitamins, countless teas, lozenges, tinctures and worked with two lactation consultants."

The following month, she shared that “nothing worked” when it came to producing breast milk — and she encouraged other parents in similar situations not to be discouraged. She said in an Instagram post at the time, “Do whatever you need to feed your baby and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.”
