Olivia Palermo Reveals Her Accessorizing Plans for the Holidays

It goes without saying that Olivia Palermo is the queen of accessorizing. She's won awards for it even. Girl knows how to style a belt (and shoes, and jewelry) better than anyone we know. So of course Aerin Lauder, the designer behind her namesake line Aerin, would choose the OG street-style star as the face of her accessories line. To usher in the holidays, to launch the brand's resort 2017 campaign (Palermo's second time starring in Aerin's campaign; see her first here), and to celebrate all things accessories, the two hosted an intimate dinner at Sant Ambroeus nestled in the West Village in N.Y.C.

"When we were looking for the face of the brand to represent the accessories, we were looking for someone with a sense of style, who was feminine, modern, pretty, and I think Olivia represents all of that," Lauder told us at the dinner. "It's a nice collaboration."

And because OP takes her accessorizing duties seriously, she dressed for the occasion in head-to-toe black, which served as a genius blank canvas for her festive accessories to stand out: an on-point stack of necklaces, featuring a black choker and a delicate gold lariat, a timepiece on one wrist, a cuff on the other, and a leopard-print Aerin clutch in her grip.

"I love black and love adding beautiful jewelry," Palermo said of her go-to holiday uniform. But the one holiday accessory styling trick we'll be seeing a lot of from her?

"I have some beautiful delicate necklaces that I've been layering," she revealed. "And for the holidays, I always love vintage brooches and clips because you can put them on the lapels or the neckline of a sweater, and it's really pretty."

The key to layering necklaces, she said, is to take a moment to play with different combinations (mixed fabrics, varied lengths) to find one that resonates with you. We paused to admire her demoed stack. Where are they from? "Oh, I don't know--it didn't cost anything," she shrugged, nonchalantly. "I find jewelry all throughout my travels."

And that's how it's done. Scroll through to see her Aerin resort 2017 campaign images.
