Levi's Wedgie Jeans are on sale right now — but you should know this before buying them

When it comes to shopping for jeans, my approach is: if it doesn’t make my butt look good, I don’t want them. You could blame it on my obsession with Nicki Minaj, but who wouldn’t a derriere worthy of a worldwide hit? *cues Anaconda* Which is why this particular Levi’s cut has been my go-to pair for the past three years.

Coined the Wedgie Fit, these vintage-inspired jeans are said to be the cheekiest pair on the market. Featuring genius pocket placements and what I think to be a little higher than your typical high-rise waist, they hug your hips and all the right places that give your behind the most perfect shape and lift.

And while it does an excellent job at emphasizing roundness and volume of my butt, the Wedgie Fit comes with one definite catch. Because of it’s super high-waist and stiff material, these bad boys almost have no stretch.

When I tried them on for the very first time, I nearly broke my nail just trying to do up the button fly to avoid the idea of going up a size. But after trying to squeeze into a size 24 with the help of the sales associate, I settled for a size 25. While they do fit tight, they stretch tremendously after an hour or so. But even with a size up, I wouldn’t recommend wearing them for a long car ride.

With all that said, I, along with other editors and celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner agree that Wedgies are so worth it due to its endless style purposes. The Wedgie Jeans continue to be the denim authority’s best selling denim. Even with the mild discomfort, I own almost every wash and fit and recommend to almost everyone I know on the hunt for the perfect denim. And because of its tapered straight leg is perfect for those with a petite frame like mine who naturally can’t achieve that coveted mom jean look— its not exactly your typical straight leg, but just as sexy yet laid back as your go-to skinny jeans.
