This Online Decorating Service Is Solving All Our December Design Woes

Evergreen Forest Centerpiece
1. Create these tall, delicate trees by wrapping the top of a foam cone with cardstock to create a true point (the tops are flat), then cover the cone in clear plastic wrap.
2. Knot a piece of green embroidery floss around the top, then wrap it around the cone in a crisscross pattern. To make shorter trees, stop wrapping before you get to the bottom of the cone.
3. Apply 2 coats of Mod Podge Stiffy to the floss. Once dry and hardened, remove the plastic wrap and cone.
4. Glue on gems to add sparkle.

Sparkly Star Ornament
1. Add some sparkle to your tree by carefully pushing whole and halved toothpicks into a 1 1⁄2" foam ball.
2. Then, apply 1 or 2 coats of silver spray paint.
3. While still wet, dust fine silver glitter over the ornament and use a dab of hot glue to attach a string for hanging.

Ceramic Plates
1. Gather up a collection of white and red mismatched cups, saucers and dinner plates, and adorn them with a mix of motifs using rubber stamps and ceramic paint.
2. Bake the dishes following manufacturer’s instructions to make the patterns permanent.
3. To hang your completed masterpieces on the wall, mount the plates on plate hooks or — if you want to avoid putting nail holes in the wall — twist a pipe cleaner into a loop and hot-glue it to the back of the plate, then mount the plate to the wall on removable Command Hooks. If you prefer to put them on shelves to bring the eye-catching pattern and color to often-neglected places, simply display them using small easels.

Straw Burst Wreath
1. Trace a floral ring on a sheet of paper and cut out the ring shape. Glue the paper to the front of the floral ring.
2. Trim 49 straws down to 6 1/2" (long), 49 straws down to 5 1/2" (medium), and cut 25 straws in half to get 50 3 7/8" (short) pieces. Discard extra pieces.
3. Apply a dime-size dot of glue near center of ring. Adhere a long straw so one end is flush with the inner ring. Continue to add long straws one by one, flush with the inner ring and evenly spaced at the outer edge, until the ring is covered.
4. Apply a dime-size dot of glue near center of ring, in the crevice between 2 of the long straws. Adhere a medium straw so one end is flush with the inner ring. Continue to add medium straws flush with the inner ring, evenly spaced between the longest straws.
5. Repeat with short straws, spacing them between the medium straws. Let dry completely.
6. Secure a small loop of ribbon to the back of the wreath with glue for hanging.
