How to open a bottle of wine without a bottle opener

Imagine your disappointment when you arrive at an idyllic spot for a weekend away only to find there isn’t a bottle opener in any of the drawers. Let’s be frank, it would be enough to put a dampener on anybody’s holiday.

But one woman beat the odds when staying with friends one weekend in a remote cabin.

After discovering that there wasn’t a bottle opener, she took matters into her own hands.

Grabbing a flat sandal, she managed to pop the cork by hammering her shoe repeatedly on a hard wall.

And thankfully, she demonstrated how she successfully opened the wine bottle by sharing a tutorial on Facebook.

“So, we are here at a cabin, in the middle of nowhere, Alabama,” a voice is heard saying. “There is no corkscrew.”

“We have been trying to figure out how to get the cork out of this bottle of wine. The lovely Amy has figured it out.”

So next time you’re stuck and the age-old key trick isn’t working, there’s no need to panic. And if all else fails, there’s always the ‘booze bangle’
