Tyler Perry's The Oval is a true soap opera filled with all kinds of surprising twists and shocking turns. And now thanks The Oval's dedicated fanbase, a third installment is in the works to continue telling the story of the show's ever-manipulative First Family of the United States.
Though season 2 of the BET series — starring Ed Quinn, Kron Moore, Daniel Croix Henderson and others — hasn't even wrapped up yet, fans are already super excited to know what season 3 will have in store. Here's what we know about season 3 of The Oval so far.
Will there be a third season of The Oval?
A week after the season 2 premiere, BET renewed The Oval for season 3, according to Deadline. After drawing in a whopping 1.4 million viewers for the series return, it’s not surprising that BET wanted the drama series to come back.
When will season 3 of The Oval premiere?
Filming for season 3 of The Oval is set to begin in Atlanta later this year, per Deadline. This means that fans could expect season 3 episodes in early 2022 — but, again, it's a bit too early to say anything definitively.
Who will be in The Oval season 3 cast?
Right now, fans should expect to see the following cast members reprise their roles in some capacity:
Ed Quinn as President Hunter Franklin
Kron Moore as First Lady Victoria Franklin
Daniel Croix Henderson as Jason Franklin
Javon Johnson as Richard Hallsen
Ptosha Storey as Nancy Hallsen

Ahead of the midseason premiere of The Oval season 2, a press release revealed that the show is adding some new series regulars to the cast — Nick Barrotta, Kaye Singleton and Russell Thomas. Nick is set to play Allan, who is "the dutiful assistant to the President's Chief of Staff, Donald Winthrop, and unsuspecting boyfriend to Ellie, the Press Secretary whose eyes are opened to the criminal antics of the First Family." Meanwhile, Kaye will play Simone, the "beautiful and 'in the know' Second Lady." Finally, Russell is set to portray Eli, the VP who is "devising an undercover scheme to overthrow the President."
