Paddy McGuinness has revealed he is thinking about a hair transplant after seeing the top job a surgeon did on Jimmy Carr.

The Top Gear star said he was so impressed by Carr’s transformation when he underwent the procedure last year, that he actually asked him for his hair surgeon’s number.

According to the Mirror, McGuinness said on a podcast that Carr’s hair transplant was the best he has seen “in the flesh”.

“It was that good I thought to myself, ‘I’m going to get that done’, I got the number of the surgeon – it was Jimmy Carr,” he said.

“It’s unbelievable, his hair is like an otter’s pelt."

McGuinness said Carr - who he works with on new show I Can See Your Voice - told him that the person who did his hair doesn't advertise and was "under the radar".

"I looked at it and I was like, ‘Now that is proper!’” he said.

Dad-of-three McGuinness, 47, said he believes that the trick is to get the procedure done before anyone realises that your locks are even thinning.

“That’s when they work the best,” he said.

Comedian Carr revealed last year that he had undergone a hair transplant after "having enough" of his hairline receding.

Opening up about it during an appearance on Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer, he said he had the procedure to stop him looking like a "snooker-playing vampire".

He said: “So what happened was my hair was socially distancing from my forehead and I’d had enough of it.

“I shaved my head and what they do is take hairs from the back of your head and they put them on the front.

“Basically I had enough hair, it was just in the wrong place. It was a bit of redistribution.”
