Breast-height pants have people hilariously confused

It’s no secret that high-waisted anything has become a fashion favorite in the past years. Whether it be jeans, shorts, trousers, or skirts, if it hugs your waist just right, it’s automatically a customer favorite. All to the extent that our love for a good high-waisted pant has reached new heights (literally) — and it has the internet confused.

As a Twitter user pointed out today, there’s a distinct jumpsuit style making the rounds on Asos that can also be perceived as a bizarre, chest-height pant.

There seem to be slight variations between the three styles, though. One is a minimal, neutral take on Tweedledum and Tweedledee’s dungarees; one resembles a simple metallic bandeau jumpsuit; and one seems to be a colorful trouser styled in a way that would make Steve Urkel beyond happy.

Yet, the one thing they have in common, despite their slightly varied aesthetics, is that we still can’t decipher what exactly they are. Are they pants pulled over your chest, strapless jumpsuits, or overalls? Technically, they are indeed jumpsuits — since they are in that designated section on Asos’s site. But in the season when layers start coming off and garments like jumpsuits are becoming a woman’s biggest go-to outfits, this question is a valid one.

Maybe we won’t get a straight answer anytime soon, and it will be deemed a questionable style choice — at least until Rihanna decides it’s not. Only time will tell.
