Panthers star cornerback Jaycee Horn sustains hamstring injury in Falcons game
Jaycee Horn has sustained an injury.
The Carolina Panthers’ star cornerback and first-round draft pick in 2021 limped off the turf in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta with just about two minutes to go in the first half of his team’s season opener.
He sustained a hamstring injury, per a team spokesperson. He was immediately labeled as “doubtful” to return before being downgraded to “out” a few minutes into the second half.
The injury occurred on the Falcons’ final drive of the half while he was covering tight end Kyle Pitts. It was non-contact.

“The update on Jaycee is a hamstring, so we’ll see the severity of that,” head coach Frank Reich told reporters postgame.
This adds to a relatively long injury history for Horn, a product of the University of South Carolina and a native of Alpharetta, Georgia. He suffered a broken foot that made him miss all but three games of his rookie year, and he missed a handful of games in 2022 due to a broken wrist that ended his season.
The son of former New Orleans Saints star and flashy wide receiver, Joe, also battled injuries to his ribs and foot in his sophomore campaign and missed some time this offseason due to an ankle injury.
