Oh the webs Comme weaves! The show, called “Ceremony of Separation,” brought grief and torturous pain to life with black headpieces seemingly made out of spider webs that completely obscured one’s view of the model’s face.

Perhaps the designers at Undercover watch “Silence of the Lambs” prior to brainstorm sessions? It seems they took the Hannibal Lector mask, made it plastic and clear, and tried to make it the next cute accessory. Maybe in China?

Asymmetrical hair and mismatching eye makeup to match, models at Yamamoto had their faces decorated with fence designs, looking like Edward Scissorhands got dressed up for a Halloween haunted house with the help of Pat McGrath.

If you weren’t distracted by the bare breasts parading down the runway, then the faces had it. Some models had Picasso-like potraits painted on, inspired by photography series “Doublefaced” by Berlin-based Sebastian Bieniek. If not looking like a Batman character, other models sported round paper masks with ears like Shrek’s.

Margiela models ran down the runway with their backs hunched scurrying along like an orderly was chasing them down with lorazepam. Their crazy clown faces matched the madness.

Of all the face decorations, Miyake’s was the most wearable. Simple shapes in primary colors could actually be the next avant garde makeup trend adopted by fashionistas.

Ricardo Tisci called his Fall/Winter 2015 Givenchy girl a “Chola Victorian.” The models pulled this vibe off with face jewels coming out of every orifice and even secured to skin in unlikely places.

Plastered in gold leaf, who wouldn’t want to wear that much precious metal on their body? It’s like taking a bath in cash but so much more luxurious. Putting your money where your mouth is — quite literally!

Vivienne Westwood, the unibrow is never going to happen, no matter how many cute doodles you draw. Stop trying to make it happen. On the other hand, all over sqiggly lines does look pretty chic.
The clothes were great, the accessories pretty cool, but Paris Fashion Week was all about the face. Designers decorated models’ mugs like it was a previously undiscovered entity, dethroning butt, boobs, and legs as the “It” body part of the season. From makeup that looked as if it was applied by a child at Margiela to Goldmember James Bond girls part deux at Rick Owens, a merely touched-up mug was out and overdone in clown paint so in.
