Other film credits include the dark rom-com Happily with Joel McHale, Lionsgate’s Long Shot starring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron, the SXSW coming-of-age drama Summer ’03, and the Oscar-nominated A24 pic The Disaster Artist. Scheer has also been seen on shows like Black Monday, Veep, The Good Place, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Fresh Off the Boat, Future Man, The League, and Human Discoveries, among others.

In addition to his acting work, Scheer can be seen dissecting generally bad films as the co-host, alongside June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas, of the popular podcast How Did This Get Made?, which is currently on a sold-out 10-city tour across the U.S. Additionally, he co-hosts the film-focused Unspooled with Amy Nicholson, having previously hosted The World’s Greatest Book Club, a Marvel talk show on YouTube that helped raise funds for struggling comic book shops amidst the Covid pandemic.

As a director, Scheer has worked on Marvel 616 for Disney+, Adult Swim’s Childrens Hospital and more. He’s also developing an interactive comedy series for eko and Bullitt Entertainment. He’s lent his voice to such animated series as Star Trek: Lower Decks and Big Mouth, and most recently produced and hosted the Give Back-ular Spectacular, which raised $500,000 for crew members and support staff impacted by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Scheer’s memoir, Joyful Recollections of Trauma, is due for release by Harper Collins next year. The multi-hyphenate continues to be repped by UTA, Sechel PR, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
